Each of the following questions will be worth up to 5 points (25 points total). Please answer each question fully and carefully. Remember, this is a test - the point of this exam is to apply the concepts we have learned in class to real world situations.

Explain which of the sociological theories best explain the causes of this phenomenon. According to Singer, what can be done stop the school-to-prison-pipeline?

What crime did Kelli Stapleton commit? Should Stapleton be labeled a social deviant? Explain why or why not (discuss the labeling theory and the notion of social stigma).
