Welcome to another week of psychology! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and took some time to contemplate the legacy of Dr. MLK Jr. Thinking back to our unit on The New Jim Crow, what changes did Dr. MLK Jr. help bring to American society? What progress has yet to be achieved?
Over the next two weeks, we will discuss the steps involved in conducting research in psychology and the ethical issues involved in doing so. Will also examine influential studies in psychology, and you will begin designing a study of your own!
Please note the assignment schedule:
Tuesday 1/20 - "World of 7 Billion" Action II due; Outline of "Prologue: The History of Psychology" due. You also should have ready ALL of Chapter 1 before class begins.
Friday 1/23 - Outline of "Chapter 2: Psychological Methods" due (see document below). Instead of printing the outline, you should use it as a guide to structure your notes on Chapter 2. Be sure to answer the "Essential Questions."
Tuesday 1/27 - Questions on the "Stanford Prison Experiment" due at the beginning of class (we will watch the last 15 minutes of the study in class on Tuesday - do your best to answer the three questions given with the content we watched in class on Monday).
Thursday 1/29 - Analysis of two of the "40 Studies That Changed Psychology" due at the beginning of class.
