In Philosophy over the next couple of weeks, we will examine the ideals of the British Empiricists beginning with Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. We will then examine the beliefs of David Hume, an agnostic empiricist from Scotland, and George Berkeley, an Irish Empiricist and bishop of the Catholic Church.
Our study of the Empiricists will lead us to the great philosophers of the Enlightenment Era including Kant, Montesquieu, Voltaire, and Rousseau.
