Welcome to the first full week of school! The first half of this week, we will finish reviewing the ancient world and the Middle Ages. On Wednesday, we will transition to the Renaissance and Reformation period. We will begin by examining the growth of wealthy trading cities and new ways of thinking in Italy that lead to the rebirth of the arts and learning.
Please note the following assignment schedule:
Wednesday 8/13 - (Due at the beginning of class)
1) Timeline of the 20 most significant events in world history (in your opinion) ranging from 5000 BC to 1300. For each event chosen, you must include a paragraph explaining why the event was important and continues to influence the world today.
2) Significant map of an event before 1300. The map could show a pattern of human migration, the spread of a religion, the expansion of an empire, or any other event that you find significant. Please include a paragraph detailing your map and explaining the significance of the event shown.
Friday 8/15 - 1.1 The Italian Renaissance (Section must be read and Cornell-style notes must be turned in at the beginning of class)
