In U.S. History this week, we will begin to examine the social, economical, and political differences in the nineteenth century that widen that gap between the Northeast, Northwest, and the South and eventually lead to the Civil War. We will also analyze the interaction between the Nationalist Republicans/Whigs and the Jacksonian Democrats, and the legacy of Andrew Jackson's presidency including the "Trail of Tears."
