In U.S. History this week, we will begin to examine the social, economical, and political differences in the nineteenth century that widen that gap between the Northeast, Northwest, and the South and eventually lead to the Civil War. We will also analyze the interaction between the Nationalist Republicans/Whigs and the Jacksonian Democrats, and the legacy of Andrew Jackson's presidency including the "Trail of Tears."

Monday 12/8 - Please finish viewing the PBS Documentary "We Shall Remain: The Trail of Tears." After viewing this documentary, please write a 1-page paper (12-point font, double spaced) discussing the impact and legacy of the Trail of Tears. You may email or turn in a hard copy of this assignment.
