Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful spring break and are ready to begin the final stretch of the fourth quarter. In U.S. History this week, we will commence a unit of study on the "Machine Age" (1877-1900). In this unit, we will examine how the United States changed and grew after the end of the Civil War and Reconstruction era. We will take a closer look at the effects of increased industrialization, the growth of labor unions, and an influx of diverse immigrants on the social, political, and economic landscape of the United States at the end of the nineteenth century.
