In Political Science, we will continue with our unit on the development and policies of the modern state. We will also begin to examine the political economy of the state.
Please note the assignment schedule:
Wednesday 3/4 - Cornell notes on Chapter 3 due.
Monday 3/9 - Current event related to differences between "nations," "states," and/or "nation-states" due at the beginning of class. *Hint: Look at issues relating to Palestine, the Kurds, ISIS, Russia's annexation of Crimea, etc.
Tuesday 3/10 - Cornell notes on Chapter 4 due (ALL of Chapter 4 needs to be read before class begins).
Wednesday 3/11 - Position paper on "Palestine" due at the beginning of class. Be prepared to read your paper and engaged in a moderated debate.
Thursday 3/12 - Position paper on "ISIS" due at the beginning of class. Be prepared to read your paper and engaged in a moderated debate.
Friday 3/13 - Cornell notes on Chapter 5 due (ALL of Chapter 5 needs to be read before class begins). *We will have a short reading quiz on Chapters 4+5 at the beginning of class - you may use your notes on the quiz.
